“The increase of discrimination and penury in Saudi Arabia led its people to commit suicide,” said Friday Prayer leader of Qatif.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  “The increase of discrimination and penury in Saudi Arabia has increased suicide rate,” according to Qatif Friday Prayer leader Hojjatol Islam Sheikh Hasan Saffar.

“Saudi officials do not care about people’s problems and their hardship have been taken on deaf ears in this country leading to increase of corruption, unemployment and poverty,” said the Islamic Scholar.

“Many of those people who commit suicide are from poor layers of the Society, they can not meet their need and find no solution for their financial problems," Hojjatol Islam Sheikh Saffar underscored.

“In Saudi Arabia people at this time pass years of austerity and it is the duty of Saudi officials to do something for them,” the Saudi scholar mentioned.

"The society of Saudi Arabia is blessed with many resources, but unfortunately mental problems have increased in such rich society and Saudi citizens are facing myriads of problems," Friday Prayer leader of Qatif noted.

Study shows the rate of suicide in the Kingdom is raising sharply and more than 84 percent of those who resort to suicide are less than 35 years old.
